Jazzle Zazzle!

Last night I stayed up past midnight posting items in my new Zazzle store! I'm having a new found love affair with Zazzle at the moment. For ages I've been trying to find the right platform to create and sell my art "merchandise" through, and while I've tried many other sites, I didn't like the way they worked or their exuberant prices. Finally - I've found one I like! And...as well as being an international company - they also have an Australian site too (especially designed for Australians in Aussie dollars!! Amazing!) So I'm really happy with it - and they have the most amazing products on there. There are a few products in my Zazzle store at the moment...and I'm currently in the process of adding more. I'll make sure to add links when there's anything really new and cool to show you.

Ari's having a little nap as I type this. *ah bliss!* this afternoon I'm going to be busy lacquering paintings and getting them ready to ship tomorrow...I might even get around to adding some of my new jewels to my eBay Store.

In the meantime - I'll always be twittering! (Or tweeting?)...x

"Canary Snake"

Today I finished a piece that I started a few months ago, and then left because I didn't know what to do with it. I had painted the girl and the canary...but I felt like something was missing and I didn't know what it was. This week however - a snake "crept" into the painting. Of course! A Yellow Canary Snake!

I was first drawn to this gorgeous big red bow in a magazine...i pictured a beautiful big blue-eyed girl wearing it in her hair...and the rest of the painting basically created itself. The canary flew in...and the yellow canary snake decided to follow it... I've always loved snakes - and this Yellow Canary Snake (otherwise known as the Kofiau Island Chondro) is a particularly special one. They are from the island of Kofiau off the west coast of Papua New Guinea (via John Berry Reptiles) and they are quite rare to find! It also features yellow roses - symbolising friendship between the snake and the canary. Although they are usually enemies - these two have a lot in common...

She is currently up in My eBay Store for 7 days starting at $50...

Tonight I'll be starting a new piece featuring the kitschiest cat you've ever seen...so cute!

"Blueberry"

I finally got around to taking photos of "Blueberry" today! She's up in my Etsy, eBay & Madeit Stores for $98. I'm really happy with the way she turned out. I've been really drawn to the colours Blue & Purple lately...I'm not sure why? Does anyone know anything about why you might be drawn to a particular colour at a particular time? I should ask my friend Tab - she's knows about Colour Therapy!

I've managed to get quite a bit of work done this weekend because Wade's been away helping his Dad move. He'll be back later this afternoon. Tonight we're having dinner at Bill & Brigette's to celebrate my cousin Mitchell's 21st birthday! Happy Birthday Mitch! I'm going to make my famous macadamia & raspberry rocky-road. Also tonight is the 'Masterchef' finale! Go Julie!

House Hunting & Alexandra Headlands, Sunshine Coast

We went house-hunting in Brisbane today, and have just returned at 10pm. *yawn* Quite a productive day - looked at lots of potential properties. But to no avail - yet. Since I wrote last, we spent a beautiful weekend at Alexandra Headlands (a stunning part of the Sunshine Coast) with Nanna Neeny (Wade's Mum) for her birthday. We went shopping in Noosa & Maroochydore, had dinner at Thai Seasons at Mooloolaba (Thumbs up for that one!), ate loads of junk food, went swimming in the pool & big rock spa, read magazines...oh yes, so relaxing! And yes - you read right - we did actually go swimming in the middle of winter! 1) We live in QLD. 2) The pool was actually heated to a lovely luke warm 28 degrees. As for art - I have finished my "blue" painting (yet to be named) and it will be added to my eBay, Etsy & Madeit Stores tomorrow! Along with a bunch of new jewels that arrived earlier this week...keep an eye out!

Night! x

Ice Age 3 in 3D

Ariella went to her first movie today! We went with Mum & Paige to see Ice Age 3 in 3D. We wore cool 3D glasses, drank frozen coke, hot chocolates & heaps of lollies. Fun times...

There are more fun times ahead too - tomorrow we're heading to Alexandra Headlands to stay at a beautiful resort with Nanna Neeny (who will be flying in from Syd tomorrow night!) to celebrate her birthday. Extra long weekend...and hopefully extra relaxing and fun! =)

Day with Paige

My cousin Paige (who is 7) is staying with us for a few days, so today we had lots of fun making jewels together, baking chocolate muffins, and playing with Ariella. In the midst of this, I managed to get a little bit of painting done tonight...maybe for an hr or so.

I spent most of my 'work' time today on updating my Etsy, Madeit & eBay Stores with new jewels. I've got more bits and pieces on the way also...so keep an eye out for more before the end of this week!

Tomorrow we're off to see Ice Age 3 - in 3D! I haven't seen Ice Age 1 or 2 yet, so I hope I can keep up with the story line. =)

Hansel & Gretel Initial Sketches...

I can't believe it's Friday already! Must have been a busy week - the days have gone so fast! I know I have been busy with jewellery orders - and I've tried to get some painting in - but I haven't put brush to canvas near enough as I would've liked to. If anything, I've been sketching quite a bit for a new "Hansel & Gretel" piece that keeps getting stuck in my head and won't go away until I get it down onto canvas. I think it's going to take a long time to paint, and it's going to be BIG, but I just know it's going to be SO worth it in the end (I think?). Here's a couple of quick sketches....I have some more Hansel ones that I'm favouring...but they're in another sketchbook which I can't find right now.
Before all of the art & web stuff of course, I have a gorgeous 8 and a half month old to look after - so most of the time it's feeds, nappy changes, wipes, playing with toys, taking walks around the yard (she loves being outdoors!), singing, reading, hugging and loving...
