"Tooth Fairy"

Hello Friday!

This morning I've been busy updating my Zazzle Store  with lots of new and exciting things. There are over 1,100 products in there now! If there's anything you like in there that doesn't have your favourite print on it, just let me know and I'll create it for you.

Yesterday I listed a new original painting inspired by my latest dentist visit. I had never had a tooth out before so I was scared! It wasn't quite as bad as I thought, but scary none the less. So I was thinking that if the tooth fairy gave me 50c - $1 for my teeth when I was little - surely with interest I should get about $50 now that I'm 27? Hmm....

Here she is:

"Tooth Fairy" by Jaz Higgins

The original painting is 30.5cm x 25cm x 1.5cm (or 12" x 10" x 0.7") in size, and painted on a stretched canvas, so it is ready to hang straight on the wall. You can find it here on eBay, or here on my Facebook page.

There are also 'Tooth Fairy' prints available!

Yesterday I was feeling adventurous so I made some kale chips - inspired by this video here. And while they were ok - a potato chip they are not Gwyneth!

So while I'm flirting with vegetarianism, I tried some Quorn sausage rolls today and they were just like regular sausage rolls! They were so yummy! Not necessarily low in fat or anything, but vegetarian none the less. Baby steps, baby steps...

Now it's back to painting, running around with Miss 3, and catching up on the new season of "16 and Pregnant!" Ah...I love trashy tv.

THREE new paintings!

Hello! Today I've been working on adding a few new prints to my eBay and Etsy stores. My "Frida and the Watermelon" original painting sold at the show, but I now have "The Two Skeletons" original available in my eBay shop!

"The Two Skeletons" original painting - 23.6" x 17.7" x 0.7"
There are also two sizes of prints available for each painting too - check them out HERE.

Over the past couple of days I've been trying to focus on getting painting in - after too much paperwork and computer work! So I've got 2 new originals for you. The first is my entry for February's Monthly Painters Challenge. The secret topic was "Rhapsody of Colour" - which I found really easy - I love playing with colour! The original is up for auction starting at just $10!

"Rhapsody of Colour" original painting - 9.5" x 7" x 0.7"

The second one is called "Spring Princess". With Easter on it's way, I added in a cute little bunny to this one, along with a couple of white daffodils. Easter in the Northern Hemisphere is often associated with Spring - whereas here in Australia it occurs in Autumn! :) So I've added a few different tones into the mix for this one. I like that it's not particularly "Eastery" - you can display it any time of the year really.

"Spring Princess" original painting - 8" x 10" x 0.7"

The original "Spring Princess" painting is up on eBay for $75 (or $69 for Facebook Fans - just write SOLD underneath the photo).Or alternatively - there are also prints available.

Last Thursday I had a tooth pulled out. I was so scared! It all turned out ok though. But now I'm thinking of painting something dental related....a tooth fairy perhaps?

Viva La Frida!

Friday night (9th March) was the opening of the "Viva La Frida" exhibition at the Circle Gallery in West End, QLD, AUSTRALIA. 25 artists were chosen to create pieces that are inspired by the famous Mexican artist - Frida Kahlo. It was a huge success with loads of people swarming through the gallery to catch a glimpse of all the art works - 25 artists in all.

Let the show begin!

So many beautiful artworks!

Getting busier...

It will be open until this Sunday, the 18th of March. If you haven't been along yet, it's a must!

Oh, and while you're at it - if you haven't seen the 2002 movie "Frida" (where Frida is played by Selma Hayek) - that's a must also!
