3 New Mini Paintings

So THIS little baby boy is now 5 months old! How did that happen?!

Photo: How are you 5 months old already? 󾬓

We're all a bit under the weather at the moment. It must be the change of season or something. We're all coughing and sniffly with sore throats. Bleh.

Over the last week or so I've been working on these mini paintings at night - and they are now available in my eBay store (if they haven't been snapped up already).

You can find them here:

I'm looking forward to Spring - my favourite season!

But for now, off I go on medicine duty...

"Once Upon a Time" Wrap Up

The "Once Upon a Time" group exhibition was a great success. Loads of amazing artwork and a very busy opening night! It was my first night away from Baby A since he was born (he's now 5 months), so Hubby and I took the opportunity to have a quiet dinner at Huongs afterwards. Party animals!

Opening night was a full house! Photo by

Now that the exhibition has come to an end I can finally share with you all the three paintings I have been working on for the past few months!

First up is "Snow White in the Enchanted Forest"

"Snow White in the Enchanted Forest" Original Painting - 80cm (W) x 100cm (L) x 3.5cm (D) - BIG!
This one is of the beautiful Snow White, while she sits in the Enchated Forest. She is surrounded by lots of little woodland creatures - deer, bunny rabbits, an owl, a raccoon, a little squirrel, and butterflies. A truely magical painting!

The original is $700, (or $660 for Facebook fans) - you can purchase it by commenting on THIS POST.

Next is a painting which was inspired by the original Hans Christian Andersen version of "The Little Mermaid" (written in 1837).

"The Little Mermaid's Demise" Original Painting - 40cm (W) x 120cm (L) x 3.5cm (D) - BIG!

This one was inspired by the original version of "The Little Mermaid" fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen. It explores the themes of life, death and love through the characters of The Little Mermaid and the Evil Sea Witch. I've also included a little blue and yellow fish in this one too! :)
The original is: $600 (or $570 for Facebook fans
you can purchase it by commenting on THIS POST.
A4 size Art Prints: $12.99
A3 size Art Prints: $23.99

And lastly I did a Cinderellla piece! "Cinderella - Something Magical Awaits"

"Cinderella - Something Magical Awaits" Original Painting - 30cm (W) x 40cm (L) x 1.5cm (D).

She has been slaving away in the castle, dusting the cinders from the fireplace, and talking to her mice friends. Just when she thought all hope was lost, she begins to sense that something magical is awaiting her...

The original is: $190 (or $170 for Facebook fans
you can purchase it by commenting on THIS POST.

A3 size Art Prints: $23.99

Since the birth of Baby A in March, I have taken a step back from my art business to focus on him, and the only art I've really been dedicated to has been finishing these three main paintings for the exhibition. It took more than a few late nights, but it was worth it in the end.

While the exhibition has been on this week it's been a relief not to have a deadline to work to and I've taken any late night opportunities to just enjoy working away at a couple of little paintings which I will put up in my eBay store in the coming week. There's also a couple of commissioned paintings in the works. :)

No more formal exhibitions for the year though. Phew!

"Once Upon a Time" next weekend!

Only 6 more days to go! I will have 3 new original paintings on show at the
"Once Upon A Time" Exhibition
August 15-25th
Art & Design Precinct - 10 Bailey Street Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
I will be there on the opening night 16th of August from 6pm. Come along and say hello! :)

This weekend Miss 4 is going to a birthday party, but apart from that - I will be cracking down on painting! I still have a big mermaid painting to finish for the "Once Upon A Time" exhibition, and it's only just over half way done.

In the meantime - I will leave you with a sneak peek at my 3 paintings I will have in the show:

I better get finishing this last painting...!!

Exhibition News & Attack of the Pop Tart.

Hello August!

This week has been...preschool runs, laundry, cooking, cleaning, and looking after Miss 4 and 4 month old Baby A (who I think is teething!?), planting some seeds, painting at any spare moment, getting orders out, and trying to sleep (sleep!? what's that!?).

Drying out some passionfruit seeds for planting.

If it's any indication of what my day is like - I started this blog post around 9:30am this morning and I'm now finishing it at 6pm. haha. It's all over the place!

You may have spotted me working on some mini paintings on instagram. They are actually nearly all finished now. Two of them were commissioned pieces and the others are a couple that I've been working at here and there. They will be available in the next few days in my eBay store - I'll post the details here when I list them.

Mini paintings (5"x5") in progress.

The big art news at the moment is that I am exhibiting at The Art & Design Precinct, 10 Bailey St, West End, Brisbane for the Once Upon a Time Exhibition, from the 16th - 25th August 2013. Opening night is coming up super fast and I've still got to finish one of my bigger pieces for the show! I will have three new original paintings there (two BIG ones!) and a selection of prints available. I will also be there on opening night from 6pm - and I would love to meet you!

For now though, it's time to cook dinner (Butter Chicken). Speaking of cooking - I cooked my hand on a pop tart the other night! I was scavenging around for chocolate after dinner, and all I could find was a Smores pop tart. Turns out it was a big bad idea!!

The burning would not stop for hours, unless I had it under cold running water. If I took it out for a few minutes it would start burning again - so I trawled google (on my handy ipad!) and found the top rated remedy on Earth Clinic was to wrap the burn in aluminium foil. It sounded nuts but I was desperate, so I tried it (although I still needed a bag of ice on top of the foil) and after about half an hour it worked! The stinging completely stopped. Amazing.
My pop tart injury.

Is this a sign that I should be eating healthier? Or that I should have chocolate bars around at all times so I won't go hunting for alternatives?
